Stainless Steel Welding in Odessa, TX

Stainless demands clean metal, the right filler, and a TIG welder who knows what sugaring is and how to prevent it. We bring mobile stainless TIG welding to your facility or job site in Odessa, Midland, and the Permian Basin — fabrication, piping, tanks, and repairs.

Precision TIG welding on stainless steel pipe

Stainless is unforgiving — weld it like it matters

Stainless steel doesn't hide mistakes. Weld it too hot and it warps, loses its corrosion resistance, or sugars on the backside — that rough, oxidized interior that contaminates everything it touches downstream. Use the wrong filler and the joint corrodes from the inside out. Skip the back purge on sanitary pipe and you've got a weld that looks fine from the front and fails inspection from the inside.

Our stainless work is TIG-first, because that's what the material requires. We back-purge pipe welds with argon where the application calls for it, match filler to the base alloy (308L for 304, 316L for 316 — not whatever rod happens to be in the truck), and keep stainless tools and consumables separate from carbon steel work so there's no cross-contamination rusting your stainless a month later.

Out here, stainless shows up in food and beverage facilities, dairies, commercial kitchens, water treatment, chemical handling, and oilfield applications where corrosion resistance matters — produced-water trim, instrumentation tubing, and facility piping that carbon steel can't survive.

Stainless work we do

  • Sanitary and process piping — back-purged TIG welds on 304 and 316 stainless pipe for food, beverage, and process applications.
  • Tanks and vessels — repairs and modifications on stainless tanks, sumps, and containment for food-grade and industrial use.
  • Food and beverage facilities — equipment repairs, table and cart fabrication, drain and grease-line work, and kitchen stainless.
  • Handrails and architectural — stainless railing repairs and fabrication where appearance matters as much as strength.
  • Instrumentation and small-bore — stainless tubing repairs and modifications for control and measurement systems.
  • Exhaust and ductwork — stainless exhaust repairs, duct connections, and stack work.
  • Oilfield stainless trim — produced-water piping repairs, instrumentation mounts, and corrosion-resistant brackets on lease facilities.
  • Water and wastewater — stainless repairs at treatment facilities, pump stations, and lift stations.
  • Custom fabrication — brackets, enclosures, guards, and one-off parts in 304 or 316 to your measurements.
  • Crack and corrosion repairs — weld repair of cracked or pitted stainless components, with the heat input controlled to preserve the alloy.
  • Dissimilar joints — stainless-to-carbon transitions with the correct filler and technique so the joint lasts.

How we weld stainless right

  • TIG (GTAW) as the standard — the cleanest, most controllable process for stainless, and the only acceptable choice for sanitary pipe and thin material.
  • Back purging — argon purge on the backside of pipe and tube welds where the application demands a clean interior. No purge, no sanitary weld — it's that simple.
  • Right filler, every time — 308L for 304 base metal, 316L for 316, and the correct choice for dissimilar joints. Filler is matched to the job, not the bin.
  • Segregated tools — stainless gets its own brushes, grinding discs, and clamps. Carbon steel contamination on stainless shows up as rust, and rust on stainless means the weld was done wrong.
  • Heat control — stainless distorts easily. We manage heat input, sequence welds, and fixture work properly so your part comes out flat and true.
  • Passivation awareness — we understand that the corrosion resistance of stainless comes from its passive layer, and we weld and finish accordingly. For critical applications we can discuss post-weld passivation options.

For work requiring documented procedures — sanitary piping to 3-A or BPE standards, ASME Section IX procedure qualification — bring us your WPS and acceptance criteria. We'll weld to your documents and coordinate with your inspector or QA program.

How it works

1. Call with the application

What the stainless is for matters — food-grade piping gets a different approach than a bracket. Tell us the alloy and the use.

2. On-site assessment

We come to your Odessa or Midland facility, assess the work, and give you a firm quote before starting.

3. Weld it clean

Purged, fixtured, and welded with the right filler — with the site left clean and the work ready for your inspection.

4. Finish as needed

Ground, brushed, or polished to your spec — from functional to food-grade cosmetic.

Stainless work is quoted per job for defined repairs and fabrication, hourly for open-ended maintenance work. Emergency stainless repairs — a downed process line, a cracked tank — fall under our 24/7 emergency service.
